[Viewer] DarkStorm v2.8 SSB [windows/linux/macosx]
#11
I learned about the Angstrom viewer and it is said to be able to export/import HPA files. Will they be compatible with DS? I'd like to share some stuff with scripts inside but no point in doing it if nobody can use it.
I'm a big fan of DS, on my pc it never crashes unlike most other viewers, so a big Thank You for sharing Smile

Wish, could you please take a look at this for me?

It is about having Copy SLurl among the area search menu, so do not have to goto MAP and click the Copy SLurl button there.

Slight issue, every time I select something to edit, after I am done and close edit, the object stays selected ( is highlighted ). This has happened in older versions of DS. Anyone else get this?

There is also a slight issue , with the idle, I did find out, half of the time it does work , and half of the time it doesn't. Some times i need to tp out of the location I'm in and then get back there to see the idle counter start to work. Even relogging will fix the issue.

However after if i stay login and don't move for a while, and the other person is on for a bit then goes afk, it won't show. unless i tp out or something else in that factor and then come back. So there might be something missing, when it doesn't refresh it's self, though again it works for times when it does refresh.

I also tested with the goon life viewer , and it shows whoever is fully idle. On DS, it only shows some of the people going idle.

So if you could wish look at the code for goonlife for the idle and see what else is missing.

if you want me to screenshot this, i will try to prove my theory.

EDIT: It might have to do something with the Lookat.

Other then that , this viewer is great. Thank you again Smile.

Hi,
same problem in 2.7 and 2.8....
Another problem I encountered only in this latest version
is an apparent block of the client, as if he was downloading something.

Hello, you next

Hi,
lately it happens very often that
DS 2.8 crashes with this error:

2013-07-15T00:27:56Z llrender/llvertexbuffer.cpp(1695) : error
2013-07-15T00:27:56Z ERROR: llrender/llvertexbuffer.cpp(1695) : LLVertexBuffer::mapVertexBuffer: memory allocation for vertex data failed.

OS Version: Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 3 (Build 2600)
Graphics Card Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation
Graphics Card: GeForce 9500 GT/PCIe/SSE2

Windows Graphics Driver Version: 6.14.0013.2018
OpenGL Version: 3.3.0

libcurl Version: libcurl/7.21.1 OpenSSL/1.0.0d zlib/1.2.5 c-ares/1.7.1

I hope that this information is sufficient
to find a solution.

" memory allocation for vertex data failed."
Meaning that your memory failed. It's either in your video memory, your operating system, or in your RAM. I would try first to replace your RAM, or do a simple test on it to see if the test fails or not.

If it happens with more than one program you need a new operating system.
If it only happens with SecondLife viewers your OS (windows XP) just doesn't like the viewer.

This viewer was likely compiled on Windows 7, which doesn't always mean it's compatible with Windows XP.

Sincerely,
-GrannyJ Tune

really good though one thing, in 2.6 (on mac here so never got to try 2.7) if you had your draw distance all the way up you could cam on anyone no matter how far away you were across the whole of the 4k height of the sim yet in this new version it wont go above 1km. Other than that its really cool its just a shame that feature doesnt work that well anymore as i use it on my sim to keep an eye on players.
