This tool was posted in the VIP area.
It is Christmas time and I want to make a Christmas gift to all.

Rip Rigged/Fitted meshes just in 1 click
No graphics program need.
Full dae file, ready to import in SL or OS

How to use:
Wait for the full rezz of the avatar (The attached meshes, must be full rezzed and textured)
Download the Xml file with DarkStorm (Rclick the avatar name Darkstorm->XML Export), check All and Download Texture, Push DS Export.
Save the xml to a folder
Close the viewer
Open MeshesSL.exe
Check the Data.db2.x.x folder TextBox ; must point to the texture cache folder of the viewer you used to export the file xml.
Select the XML file to read (the xml just exported with DarkStorm).
Push "Create dae files for all models".

Read MeshesSLtoRead.pdf for more info and FAQ

Thanks for releasing this tool.
Is it possible to specify the directory that the .dae is exported (not the shortcut file)? Can't find an option in preferences for this. I don't want the .dae to be exported in my appdata/local/ folder as it's a hassle trying to locate that folder and I don't want to forget cleaning it up later.
Also, I'm getting the "material of model is not a subset of reference model" error quite often, happens more often on rigged stuff. I followed instructions exactly. I even opened the .dae with notepad++ to check the naming of the materials and they're all fine (no extras or wrong material names). It seems to happen a lot when the object ripped has a demo prim linked to it (one of those floating boxes).

MeshesSL dae cache files
You can edit the "Init.xml" file using a text editor.
Replace the row "<pathPro>C:\Users\******\AppData\Local\MeshesSL</pathPro>" with "<pathPro>New Path</pathPro>" (i.e. "<pathPro>D:\MeshesSL Cache</pathPro>", in this case you have to create the directory "MeshesSL Cache" in drive D root)
New path must exists.

Material errorr
Use DS  for uploading the mesh.

Can I set the "Init.xml" files of "MeshesSL" and "MeshesSLNoteCard" to point to the same folder and thus both programs share the same folder "SLM_Files"?

You can't, because the position of "SLM_Files" in MeshesSLNoteCard, is not configurable. The program expects to find the "SLM_Files" directory in the same path of MeshesSLNoteCard.exe.

Gina, thank you for your Xmas gift! It's very generous of you to have given us, the plebes, this tool.
Today, I had a chance to try it, and I see plenty of errors such us this one.

[Image: UVBTkqC.png]

I think i followed all the instructions you provided.  The Darkstorm's cache folder is set correctly and yet it looks like something is wrong with my cache storage, probably?  Can you help?

Thank you.

I just downloaded MeSL 1.6.0.12 and there is no PDF in the Rar. Would love to go through the PDF to see what the heck I am doing wrong.

And I have that exact same Runtime error.

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

About the runtime error it seems your system error
You have to send me (in PM better) your configuration (Window version, are you using a VM software,  When the error occurs).

Edit
Look at the xml files downloaded with DS.
Probably the name of a mesh contains invalid characters like "& quot;".
if so, edit the xml files and delete all the strings "& quot;"
Let me know if this solves the problem
