AVsitter to become open-source on 31 July 2017
#1
In SL, AVsitter scripts enable easy creation of furniture from simple single animation chairs to feature rich couples furniture - without poseballs.  The scripts for AVsitter and plugins will become open-source on 31 July 2017.  Currently, after importing furniture using AVsitter to opensim, the menu and position information needs to be converted to a format that is used by one of the animation systems that are available in opensim (like MLP, nPose, PMAC).  This conversion is time consuming.  After AVsitter source is released and modified for opensim script differences, we will be able to get the furniture's animation system to work properly by just adding the opensim AVsitter scripts to the furniture.  As more tools like this become available, the free regions of opensim become more and more useful.  More details at h ttps://avsitter.com/support

Well damn, that is awesome to hear. I hate I bought the system now as I have rarely had much time to mess around with it!
Didn't your mother ever tell you that sharing is caring?

It would be super cool if whoever has it and receives the open source full perms update could finally share with us! I have been after this system since forever but it's more expensive than the meds of my son!

On 31 July 2017, current AVsitter users will get an update containing a full perm version and others should be able to get the full perm version from information that should be added to the AVsitter support webpage.  This full perm version will work fine in SL, but will require modifications to the AVsitter scripts to work properly in opensim.  SL and opensim 0.8.x and opensim 0.9.x-dev all have a few differences in their scripting engines.  If no one is planning to modify AVsitter for opensim, then I will probably modify it for opensim 0.8.x and/or opensim 0.9.x-dev.  I will need to learn about the AVsitter experience key that is used for the AVprop plugin.

So yesterday I discovered that they had made the script and its plugins open source by chance after visiting their site. It's great and all but I'd honestly have thought they would include a texture / material (spec & bump) plugin too. I'm incredibly bummed out that now I still have to fork over 800L for the third party script that supposedly works, "with" AVsitter to change textures, specular and bump maps.

Thinking of adding a button to give / rezz a BOSH hud for peeps to change the textures (would only work if they were seen as the creator ifc) but it would honestly just be so much simpler to do it via the menu (if the creators of AVsitter had the foresight to see that far in advance)...

I don't suppose anyone has a script they've compiled that they'd like to share? I can't be the first in this crowd to want this option without forking over L$$$...
