Hi Folks,

Since I'm new to all this, and by the comments others are too, and I've got a terrible memory so as I find stuff that helps me progress I'll add the information here as I go along, mainly so I got somewhere to refer back to it, but secondly it may help others have a try too.

Software needed and instructions:

Starting again from scratch, I'm going to learn this even if it kills me, and it might too lol.

Still working on the errors but for anyone that may need them here are the links:
Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Express (ISO)

Microsoft Visual Studio Community 2013

Just as an added bit of info, totally freeware: Makes it really easy to see the code and work with it, so if any alterations need done, will make life simpler.
Visual Studio Code by Microsoft,

Reminder for myself: Setting Paths.
Advanced System Settings - Environmental tab at bottom - Edit Path section - Browse for folder where path to files you need are. OK out of all windows.

Install Git Bash - woohoo works awesomely

As part of getting your Windows build system operational, one step that isn't detailed on their wiki is to make sure your Windows Update is set to get updates for "other Microsoft products" as well as for Windows. How to set this varies between Windows versions, so rather than try to go into it all here I suggest you google "windows update other Microsoft products" and poke around until you get it set. One quick and dirty shortcut though that should work on any version, is to install Silverlight, and on the last page of its install process there is a checkbox to enable that setting, which is already checked by default. If you already have Silverlight installed and Update doesn't already say the 'other products' bit, you can try uninstalling Silverlight and reinstalling it.

I wish you luck. I love the name RavenStorm too. I'm ready and willing if you need testers and I know nothing about compiling but I'm a heck of a user.

@ Raven I LOVE this news, and while I don't know anything about compiling yet, I still would like to offer my help to test it on Windows 7 and 10 and Ubuntu 16 and 18.

Good luck!

Hi folks,
Can someone look at the following and hopefully help me solve it please:
I managed to compile FmodStudio ok, so don't think there is anything wrong with the instalations of the things needed to compile the viewer, I just don't understand the autobuild arguments and what to put where etc

Thanks in advance

Code:
/phoenix-firestorm-lgpl
$ autobuild configure -c -a  configuration -A 64

I don't build *storm but from looking at the wiki and comparing how autobuild works for Singularity, and assuming you did the step of copying autobuild.xml to my_autobuild.xml as part of getting Fmod Studio situated, try this commands in order in your command prompt, in the repository root:

set AUTOBUILD_CONFIG_FILE=my_autobuild.xml

autobuild configure -A 64 -c ReleaseFS_open -- --fmodstudio --package -DLL_TESTS:BOOL=FALSE

Then, if you want to build it on the command line:

autobuild build -A 64 -c ReleaseFS_open --no-configure

If you prefer to build it within Visual Studio, which I highly recommend, don't run the 'build' command in the prompt, but go look in your repository, find the build-vc120-64 (might be build-vc120-x86_64 or so, anyway the one that matches the architecture you specified) and inside it is Firestorm.sln , double click it and Visual Studio will open and load the solution file.  From the VS menu Build > Build Solution.

The autobuild command line is a pain to type every time, so I recommend creating batch files after you get your command lines the way you want them.

Holy Shit! FCTEAM where ya been???? Miss you!

For what it's worth, in all of the copybot viewers made..FCTeam made the best importer/exporter which I believe is used in Darkstorm.
