SecondLife Import Procedures of CopyBotted Items
#1
The requirements for importing mesh in SecondLife are that you have a account with Payment Info Used.
For OpenSim these requirements dont exist I assume.

So my question is what are the creative ways to get CopyBotted items into SecondLife without getting banned?
Are you using stolen credit cards?
Hacked accounts?

Or are you using a exploit that may make someone else look like the creator of the copybotted item?
I heard people claim the uploader is determined client side and not server side?
Correct me if I'm wrong.

And also are there other creative ways that are completely untraceable if done properly?

Finally I know you can simply stick the root-object of someone else to a linkset, but i'm not intrested in this half-ass approach.

Social Tricking:
most people tend to believe what they see.
they do not check the attachment link by link, just if it basically looks like that (take the name, put it in google, ah its freebie opensource, not my beer...)

for mesh bodies/heads i use the opensource Ruth2 avatar linknames or something old, that less do remember.
I rated for assets once but that is no longer necessary. Try the XML2-tools.

Doesn't SL keep a record of your RL info? Also doesn't your RL name need to match your bank account information?

If second life saves your name but you can modify your address in this way nobody will find you and the bank cannot give any information to second life it is prohibited by law if it asks for the address of your ID you have to go to change the registry for another momentary in what you do this record

So the trick is to temporarily have correct personal information and then change the personal information and then close the skrill or paypal account after verification.

I assume you made many alts this way?
So My next question will be in regards to ban evasion?
After the first time your account has been verified, does the personal information still need to match to buy lindens?

I researched this topic yesterday to find as much information as possible.

SecondLife has 3 Payment Statuses
- No Payment Info On File
- Payment Info On File
- Payment Info Used

Payment Info On File
You've added payment information to your account but didn't make a transaction to LL. Some people claim this enough to upload mesh, so you don't need to actually pay SL to verify your account. The LL Privacy Policy states they only keep Anonymous Information on you. But you are required to use a verified PayPal or Skrill account.

Payment Info Used
You've made a transaction to LL. This means they have at least one transaction on their receiving PayPal or Skrill account.

Privacy Policy of Linden Lab
We will retain Anonymous Information and Aggregate Information after your account has been closed.

Surfing copybot forums, I found:
- That people have successfully resubmitted new payment information after they got banned.
- If blacklisted payment information is used they are usually banned pretty quickly.
- Some people resell verified accounts, but they are prone to being banned because multiple accounts may use the same payment info.

Netflix as reference
I also googled what other companies keep in their system and found this for netflix:
A device identifier, an email address associated with the account, and hashes of your payment details. “Hashing” means that we can “match” your payment method (or email) if it is reintroduced to our systems - but we cannot use the information to contact you or charge your payment method.

Research on Paypal Forums
I read that PayPal sends First name, Last name, Address, Phone number and Email with every transaction. It doesn't say if this information is also send if you just register your payment method without making a transaction. But if you do buy lindens they should have a hash of your Name and Address. Also I was able to confirm a friend of mine was able to verify a new paypal account after he got banned.

My conclusion
I think most of this is really a matter of how much LL can legally keep to identify you after you deleted your payment information. If you've never made a transaction they may have very little information on you. If we consider a hypothetical situation where they got your hashed personal details on file. Could this be used to track who you really are? Probably not. Can it be used to prevent you from adding new Billing Information to a new account probably yes, but apparently this system is also very weak.
