OpenSim Grids start a huge growth!
#31
I'm loving to spend hours on OSgrid - and it's amazing that has so many good quality stuff for free! I got 5-6 complete avatars with great outfit and ao directly from a shop without a need to put any money to it. And people on osgrid are very friendly- when I first got there and I was a cloudy a woman tried to helped me without even asking to!
Now I'm fixing my personal sim at my own pc so I can share it with a couple of friends! In the future I plan to rent space from a server to move my region there. Sl is nice but :
1. Quality stuff are quite expensive .
2. They don't allow to connect your sim to their servers.
3. They charge too much to "buy" land.

OSgrid has better newby avies lol, I have 24 sims myself but cant connect until I get a better router that can do loopbacks. Theres a few sims that are way cool on OSgrid, one is a simulation of Dune the movie, the owner actually scripted communicators that can communicate without using IMs. The geeks hang out at Wright plaza, they are generally cool but don't flaunt maitreya shoes or anything, its just tacky lol. OS is a different place from SL and nobody really cares what you look like there.

Try this if your router doesn't support NAT Loopback:

Hope this helps :-)

This is interesting... I didn't even know about this. I could technically have a place for me and my fans to hang out without having to spend a fortune??

The OSG system is great myself run it under linux there some things to remind when you wanna make 1

1. use unbuntu
2. install FULL version of mono
3. in file sysip = your own IP not local
4. Port forwarding is VERY importnant

You can have a grid running and see it in OSG but still no access a problem wich can cause this is port forwarding - if you have a router
got to forwarding or games/applications BUT REMIND THIS :

***** THE LOCAL IP OF YOUR LINUX SYSTEM and the PORT *****

you think why this idiot use caps thats why as you dont do that
it can keep you busy for days... check also on local ip and Inet IP
if all works you see

Ooops!

The page you requested has been obsconded with by knomes. Find hippos quick!

If you are trying to log-in, your link parameters should have: "-loginpage http:///?method=login -loginuri http:///" in your link

If you see this you can be a happy guy...

REMIND: linux machine IP and PORT into forwarding
does not work with a modem who act like a router than you need to plugin directly

so PC > ROUTER > MODEM if modem has own router

PC > MODEM

Enjoy!
