Importing Sculpt XML's?
#21
Exacly as far as i know we must rip object what we want import to other grid with assets after rip it to harddrive we can upload it to other grid with assets include when we upload it with assets we get folder with textures in inventory probally name of these textures are uuid from sl xD
Sometimes when u see everything ok-without import assets u see because your cache is still load from viewer Big Grin i got this fault on IW few days ago haha!

In short:
1.Export everything what u want with assets -remeber it's took some time to download.
2.Log in to your grid
3.Import everything what u want with assets to grid
4.Also u can re export it without assets from grid it's mean when u import house to iw with assets u can export it without and for exmaple save it to some folder called IW stuff Smile
5.Have fun n love me xD

save texture as jpeg/png/whatever, then upload into world as a new picture, most other grids say 10L to upload but are actually free

Upload textures options in HPA import and XML import commands on latest DS won't get textures uploaded here, so the only shortcut when importing objects with a big number of prims and sculpted maps is to bulk upload these textures and then replace the texture IDs in the XML file with the new IDs. Using text editor macros here is handy, else would be a real chore.

If you use the same viewer for SL and Inworldz, beware it shares the same cache so things imported to Inworldz using the standard import XML could seem to look fine, but that's just because it's loading the textures from your SL cache. Ask other avis around and they will see your stuff grey. Clear your cache and rebake textures to test this for yourself.

YOu see imported stuff good until you clear your cache or it is replaced with new stuff. Thats because may be you are using a viewer which has cache from SL too.

Basically You need to to this for importing the right way into IW:
1- upload the object textures
2- replace every texture UUID in the object XML file with the new UUID it has now
3- import the updated XML

Of course there are ways to speed this process. And for that you will have to use more than one software and script a bit. Else you have to do it manually, which is a chore in case of multi-prim objects.

and most important of all sculpts are made w a sculpt map wich is a foto then you got to rip w assets in order to sculpts appear perefectly

when ya saw objects fine in one day then o next look as a bubble this was coz you got bufffered the sculptmap in memory and i assume ya used same copybot viweur when ripping and when imported.
the secret is only rip everything always w assets.

I apologize for my English.
To import clothing with textures and sculptural, we first need to disassemble the set of all textures. control the texture of the sculpt and clothing to your computer. then in the OS to load all the textures and point them in the right places. processes long, but 100% result.

Well I tried a few different ones and none worked.

The only way I figured out how was to use the xml file on SL and then export whatever it was as a sculpt map as a .dae file then import it to any other grid as Mesh

Saving the file as meshes keeps all the textures in tact based on how they are set in the sculpt, and then some of them you can use the auto smooth when importing it and it will clean up the file so it no longer looks like it was a sculpt first.

Im not a pro, still a noob here. And only in IW really any more so its pretty useless for me to have a sim full of rips. Wouldnt be long before someone took notice and reported me.

And I have seen many so far ripping stuff off from SL and selling it in IW. They dont have a marketplace so unless people know a specific build its really hard for someone to figure it out. And the noobs that come into IW are clueless and alot of them have never been to SL.
