I have a porn and video game addiction and no self control. Plus Second life is the only place i can live out my fantasy of being a transgendered Asian woman who urinates on people in public.

I joined out of curiosity and stayed because of my new friends and because I'm disabled in real life, I can do things in SL that i no loner can irl, like Dancing.

i joined because a friend from an older, waaay less advanced 'world' practically dragged me in.  i hated it at first, learning curve and all that.

but then i discovered POSEBALLS!  Big Grin Wink

and then, some time later, i met the girl who would eventually become my partner. ad now, well, we would still be logging in -somewhere- even if every grid on the planet went up in smoke, i have a sim on a stick installed on my lappy and slowly getting it comfortable as a retreat just in case and just to have a quiet place to escape to. Smile
Fractured Crystal: You know ban evasion isn’t in the TOS, right?

SL banned? Search 'technitium', 'MAC changer', 'serial changer', 'ban evasion', 'VPN', 'IP ban', 'hardware ban'.

As a Gemini I can argue any side of everything with equal conviction.  You have been warned.

My first try with Second Life has been 2005ish, but I hated it, uninstalled and forgot all about it until 2007.

Given it a try because of a media craze it had caused at the time. Stayed because I wanted to be The Uber Fashion Designer ™, realised I suck and proceeded to role play, visit every location and meet awesome people. Also bought lots of guns. Same as Rebecca, I'm disabled, thus it gave me a confidence boost. Especially when I started an SL job as a fashion event manager - this has actually landed me on a media course in Glasgow in 2008 Big Grin .

Recently, I came back because my best friend prompted me.

What do you find attention-catching about our little virtual sand box?

For me, it was having friends and coping with too much death and illness.

It was/is an escape. x3
I can relate to the escape part, that was one of the later reasons I came (back) in-world. originally, I saw an episode of CSI:NY and they had SL up on this giant floor to ceiling screen, flying around, explaining you can create any character you want..and it just intrigued me. I loved the idea of SIMS without the tedium but with tons of exploration possibilities. So I voiced this but it wasn't until I was medically made to stay indoors for a year, that I was encouraged by a close friend to try it in sincerity to not go crazy from being a shut in. The fun of getting to dance )music/clubs..somthing i missed sorely when i was unable to do them in FL any longer) , the exploring , as well as friendships, and later, my current obsession, shopping, allll kept me there & occupied for now..many years.  I have a great partner who i know in and out of SL and We have so much fun inworld, that even if I were in good health again, I'd have a hard time imagining going without.
