Failure when it comes to compiling firestorm
#1
I have no clue what to do when it comes to getting this viewer source on my computer to work with. I have been following this page Guests cannot see links in the messages. Please register to forum by clicking here to see links. and initially had issues with the autobuild part, specifically the command "autobuild  build -all", I would get a bash command does not exist error even though I had put it in my environment variable Path. so decided to actually run it in Bash, so inside the cygdrive folder I ran bash and now I found out that its trying to fetch something called fmodapi44461win-installer at 192.168.1.115 which is an IP in my local network, however it keeps timing out

My goal is to create my own viewer using Firestorm as a base and learn from other viewers. I am already a C# programmer so jumping to C++ won't be the biggest leap, however I am definitely having issues with this for some reason.

that is outdated they use a new auto build now you have to use Guests cannot see links in the messages. I have been using Autobuild 1.0 for this whole time. Ill just follow this when I have a chance to retry everything Guests cannot see links in the messages. Please register to forum by clicking here to see links.

If I can get successful with that I will try singularity like you said.

The link you are using to the "Firestorm Windows Builds" contains very old instructions.  Newer instructions on the Firestorm site are on a hidden page at Guests cannot see links in the messages. Please register to forum by clicking here to see links.

Very old thread, but I figured since its litterly the 5th down from the top I wouldn't consider it necro bumping, I want to point out that last week I wanted to try to dive back into this thing head first.

My issue is that the autobuild editable command modified the autobuild xml values for win32, however I wanted it to modify for windows 64, which is where it looks for the fmodapi tar file. So I dived into the xml file and manually edited the value for windows 64 with what got edited in win32 and was able to successfully get the source files. Such a huge hassle.
